Prayers for 9 September 2010

ACS student prayers for us to lift up together this week:

  • ·         Answered prayer:

from a young man “that God blessed me with a dream about my dead sister…I pray He blesses me with another.”

  • ·        
  • ·         Many prayers of celebration:

for passes, for upcoming discharges, from a young woman thankful for a letter from a friend, from a young man thankful he has moved off low privilege status, for smiley faces, the state fair, Popeye, Betty Boop, and Good Stuff!

  • ·         Many prayers of concern:

from a young man for his girlfriend that God would help her, from a young man that God would help him get off low privilege status, from a young man for better communication between students and staff, from a young man concerned about his mom’s co-worker being mean to her, from a young woman concerned about the schedule change of moving to full-days in school, from a young woman wanting to stay out of the drama going on at her cottage, for a young woman who got in trouble while trying to defend her sister from getting beaten up at school, from a young boy who is disappointed he missed going to the fair with his dad because he was grounded.

  • ·         Many prayers for families:

moms, dads, brothers, grandparents, for an aunt who is pregnant, uncles, for the many nieces and nephews that are on their way, for a sister in juvenile detention, from a young woman for her mom who is pregnant with her baby sister, from a young boy for his sister who has been very ill and is celebrating her 16th b-day, from a young boy who wants to be back home with his family in rural Alaska, from a young girl for her family who is traveling, for pets, from a young woman who has been thinking about her twin who died at birth, safety for a sister serving her last 2 months in Iraq, from a young man grateful his sister and brother are getting themselves up and ready for school.

  • ·         Prayers for healing:

for a boy to heal from his bike accident, from a young man “for my mom’s leg to heal,” from a young man “for my dad who’s having surgery next week,” for a young boy who hurt his head, from a young man for his victim.

  • ·         Prayers for a young woman struggling with sadness after learning that her mom has let go of custody of her (she is the last of her sisters and brothers that her mom has let go of).

  • ·         Prayer from a young boy, “for Daisy, Otto, Zeke, Cathy and Danelle (and that Danelle runs a good race).”
  • ·         Prayer from a young girl, “I’m excited cause after treatment I get to move to the country and have a tire swing and a pond and a horse!”

Prayers for 2 September 2010

Prayers for those students who have silent prayers they want help with.

  • ·        
  • ·         Answered prayers:

from a young man “my mom’s health is better!” from a young man “I finally heard from my family!”

  • ·         Many prayers of celebration:

several prayers re: going to the state fair and riding the rides, eating fair food and seeing “super cool stuff!”, from 2 students who “got to go to the zoo and see every animal and howl at the wolves!”, for upcoming passes and visits, from a young man “I’m an adult now,” from a young girl “my brother is moving to Anchorage!”

  • ·         Many prayers of concern:

from a young woman “for my sister who is at North Star (hospital) for the 3rd time this month…but it’s also good cuz while she’s there she’s not with our mom,” from a young woman “for my peer who’s having a hard time missing a past peer,” from a young boy “for my grandpa that died,” from a young boy “I really miss my mom,” from a young girl “for my dogs Daisy and Sierra…they both have hurt paws and for my grandma’s cat Minnie,” from a young girl “I pray no bugs get in my room.”

  • ·         Many prayers for families:

from a young boy “for my real family and all my other families,” from a young girl “I’m mad and sad that my family is going on a trip with out me,” from a young boy “for my whole family.”

Prayers for 19 August 2010

ACS student prayers for us to lift up together this week:

  • ·         Many prayers of celebration:

for discharges, for school clothes, for visits, for a young man who is thankful for his new baby sister, from a young boy “for being able to play soccer”,  from a young boy “for new friends I can have fun with.”

  • ·         Many prayers of concern:

From a young woman “for my peers who went to the hospital this week…it was scary,” from a young woman “for my friends who need to find Jesus,” for pet dogs, fears regarding not being able to go on pass, for a young woman praying for a foster home that is safer than her own home, from a young woman for her 16 yr old friend who is pregnant, from a young woman unhappy about her new school, for a young boy who is worried a tree might fall on his school

  • ·         Many prayers for families:

From a young boy concerned for his mom’s safety (her boyfriend has just been released from jail), from a young woman looking forward to a visit from her dad, from a young man for his cousin who just got out of jail, from a young woman for her sister in Iraq, from a young woman who is thankful her cousin got full custody of his 6 mo old baby, for a young boy grieving his grandma, from a young man for safe travels for his mom and dad, for a mom using drugs, for peace between biological and foster families, from a young man for his parents “who are getting worn out from all they have to do,” for a younger brother who had been in and out of jail, from a young boy “that my dad would do what he needs to do so I can go home.”

  • ·         Many prayers regarding health:

for a young woman who got hurt in gym class, from a young man thankful his 7 month old son is healthy and getting his teeth, from a young boy for his sister who is having her 3rd surgery for a rare disease.

Prayers for 12 August 2010

ACS student prayers for us to lift up together this week:

  • ·         Many prayers of celebration:

For 3 successful discharges this week (and 2 more coming up on Monday!), for passes, for school clothes shopping, for visits,

for trial home passes, for a young man who is excited about earning his 1st paycheck,  for a young woman who will celebrate her birthday tomorrow, for a young man looking forward to a family vacation when he leaves treatment next week

  • ·         Many prayers of concern:

For a young boy and a young girl who feel scared at night, for those who are homesick, fears regarding not being able to go on pass, desires to be able to stay away from drugs, for a young boy who saw his 12 year old friend get killed, for a young woman who feels like she is falling into darkness and concerned that the one good thing in her life is vulnerable, from a young woman concerned about a peer who has left treatment

  • ·         Many prayers for families:

From a young girl for her mom who died, for a young woman who is afraid of her mom, from a young woman who hopes her dad would be back in her life, from a young boy for his grandpa who died, from a young boy for his grandpa who is sick and dying, for a sister’s birthday, for a niece’s birthday

  • ·         Many prayers regarding health:

From a young boy who is thankful he still has his tonsils, for a young girl who is concerned about teeth problems, for a young girl who is happy her teeth got pulled out , for a young woman concerned about a bump on her thumb that hurts,

Prayers for 6 August 2010

ACS student prayers for us to lift up together this week:

  • ·         Many prayers of celebration:

For a young man successfully discharging from treatment today, for going to the air show, for passes, for visits, for phone calls

for trial home passes, for families, for new friends, for upcoming discharges, for a young boy who says, “I’m awesome!”, for a young girl who had 6 out of 7 stickers this week! gratitude for upcoming school situations

  • ·         Many prayers of concern:

fears regarding not being able to go on pass, fears regarding being able to return home, desire to stay on the right path, desires to be able to stay away from drugs, for understanding of unhealthy desires, for friends, for those having nightmares, for a family friend who died in a car accident, desires to be more focused on treatment

  • ·         Many prayers for families:

for moms, for dads, from a young man for his son, for grandparents who are sick, for pets, for a sister living on the streets, for a sister serving in Iraq, for a sister’s birthday, prayers from a young girl that her sister would forgive her

  • ·         Many prayers regarding health:

for a young boy who fell and hurt his head, for a young boy whose elbow keeps popping, for a young boy whose gums are red, for a young man having trouble sleeping
